WMRMYC Inc Winter Scratch Series RD 6, Carbrook - 4th October 2015

Twelve skippers turned up to sail the last round of the Winter Scratch Series.

Ex member Garth Halton was visiting without a boat.

At 8am there was 4 knots of westerly wind across the lake.

Sailing started early at 9-20 am as the breeze was fading.

Tony Grey charged ahead in the first four races with two 3rds and two 1sts. He then lent his boat to Garth to sail. Garth sailed very well with two 1sts and two 5ths. However our sailing rules do not allow different skippers to sail the same boat, so Tony had “did not finish” scores credited to him to come overall 7th on the day. Tony acted as PRO for the last four races. Thankyou Tony.

The fickle breeze moved north and continued to lessen. Just eight races were completed in the course of the morning.

In those eight races, 1st place was achieved by five different skippers. Particular congratulations to Ken Anning! Well done! Five skippers achieved 2nd places and six skippers achieved 3rd places. Bernie Cornish and BRYC member Graham Wimberley achieved 4th placings during the morning.

Overall it was a friendly and challenging morning of sailing.
